So Buckle Up And Hang On! "Let's Roll"!

This site is dedicated to law enforcement officers worldwide who strive daily to make our world a better place...to the memory of my cousin, Chief Deputy Bobby Biggerstaff, Franklin County Sheriff's Department, killed in the line of duty June 20, 1993...to Irving Police Officer Aubrey Hawkins, murdered by the "Texas Seven" at Oshman's in Irving, Texas December 24, 2000, and to his widow, Lori Hawkins, a good friend of mine...and to all people who have given the ultimate sacrifice to protect the citizens they served.

Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called the children of God-Matthew 5:9

God Bless The USA

In 2002, through July 16, 58 Law Enforcement Officers have died in the United States in the line of duty.

Bibliography
Thank you for visiting streety.8k.com.  This site was created by me, Jim Street.  I am 30 years old single.  I have a Bachelor of Science Degree with a double major in Criminal Justice and Pyschology (Sam Houston State 1994), and an Associate of Science Degree in Criminal Justice (Norteast Texas Community College).  I also attended Texas Tech University for three years, where I was a punter for the Texas Tech Red Raiders football team.  Some of my teammates who have played or do play professionally in the National Footbal League are:  Lin Elliott, kicker for the Dallas Cowboys 1992-1993 (Super Bowl Champs 1993); Zach Thomas, current all-pro linebacker for the Miami Dolphins; Bam Morris, former NFL tailback (and from nearby Cooper, Texas); and Billy Joe Tolliver, former quarterback for several NFL teams. I was a member of the Texas All State High School Football Team in 1989.  I am a member of the First United Methodist Church and a member of the National Republican Party.  Lastly, I am a member of the Fraternal Alliance of Respected Turtles, a social group based on pure and clean thoughts!  Ha!

Career Information
I am employed by the Mt. Pleasant (Texas) Police Department as the second shift sergeant.  Additional duties include: field training sergeant, overseeing the training program for new recruits, head of accident investigators, head of bicycle patrol, head of the recruitment committee, intoxilizer operator, notary public, "forms person", and police academy instructor at Northeast Texas Community College.  I am also the Vice President of the Mt. Pleasant Police Association.  In the past I have served my department as a detective assigned to white collar crimes, corporal, honor guard member, and treasurer of the police association.

I have 10 years of law enforcement experience, and hold an Advanced Peace Officer License, Police Instructor License, and Correctional Officer License.  During my career with the Mt. Pleasant Police Department I have been promoted three times.  I received a commendation from the Chief of Police for professionalism,  an academic achievement award from the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Standards and Education (TCLEOSE), an honorable service award, and several certificates of merit.  My prior law enforcement/investigative expericence has been with the Texas Department of Protective and Regulatory Services in Bryan/College Station, Texas as a child abuse investigator, and with Franklin County (Texas) Sheriff's Department as a deputy sheriff and corrections officer.

Mt. Pleasant Police Association-The Association consists of sworn officers, dispatchers, and all other members of our department, spouses and immediate family members of employees, and police explorers.  The association is a unified group dedicated to creating the best police department in Texas.  Our department has an excellent training program, and far exceeds state requirements.  Approximately 25% of the department's officers have at least a bachelor's degree.  A majority of officers have at least the equivalent of an associate's degree.  Few agencies in Texas can boast such numbers.  If you have any suggestions or comments, please write the association at P.O. Box 487, Mt. Pleasant, TX, 75456.

Interests
I enjoy staying active.  My hobbies include investing, running, jetskiing, watching football (especially the Texas Tech Red Raiders and Dallas Cowboys), and various other sporting activities. One of my favorite pasttimes is spending quality time "hanging out" with friends, family, and my girlfriend.  I love a wide variety of music and writing poetry and short-stories. You can chat with me on MSN Messenger.
